The Leuser Ecosystem rainforest is as the best forest for sumatran birds. The Leuser Ecosystem and Gunung Leuser National Park (GLNP) is one of the richest tropical rainforest in Southeast Asia. The Leuser Ecosystem are covering more than 2.6 million hectares and including the 1.094.692 ha of Gunung Leuser National Park. The bigger part is located in Aceh Province (2,255,577 hectares) and the rest in North Sumatra Province (384,297 hectares). The Mount Leuser National Park (TNGL) has been recognised as a “World Heritage Site” by UNESCO.

Yani has concentrated her travel activities within the Remote Sumatra region, studying the culture, tradition, custom and building an intimate knowledge of community bassed tourism and also as the director of Remote Sumatra Tour. Agus Nurza
Agus is a Veterinarian by profession and started off as a birdwatcher based in Aceh province of Northern Sumatra, Indonesia. He is very interesting to see wildlife and nature. Since 2007, Agus involved in studies on ecology and distribution of various bird species and also published numerous reports and papers. He is also an accomplished bird photographer and continues to explore new sites on Sumatra in search of endemic birds. He is a talented bird photographer with a particular interest in capturing the many photographed birds in Sumatra. He has more than a passing interest in the wildlife and is attempting to see all megafauna of Sumatra. Bird-surveying and guiding throughout the Indonesia region and in particular Sumatra. Rubama

Hasri Abdillah
Hasri was born in Medan, North of Sumatra. He studied Biology at Sumatra Utara University and also active in conservation activities such to secure the environment of the waterbirds habitat since he was study in the university. Hasri still active in various environment activities and join with the other local NGO’s in Medan. Hasri have been being doing research about habitat of Waterbirds in North of Sumatra. He also contribute and as a volunteer in Asian Waterbird Census by the Wetland International. Hasri Is as one of Aceh Birder team and Bird guide in north Sumatra.
Mr. Johan Ketambe
The owner of the guest house Wisma Cinta Alam (Johan) is so inspired and informed guide. Johan is a wonderful guy and puts you at ease immediately with his kind smile and jokes. His father was the first guide here in 1969 and the first guest house so Johan has been around this for a long time. He took 10 years out to work with conservation but came back in 2009 to grow the guide and rafting business. One of his dreams is to raft the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. Now, there are staff who are trained to call upon when needed. If you want a more natural forest experience and to see Orangutan, White Hand Gibbon, Thomas Leaf Monkey, lots of birds, experienced amazing forest and a lot of other wildlife in the wild and have the time, head for Ketambe with Johan. Johan is indeed a gifted guide.
Evi Zahayati

Abdul Hadi

As he has grown up by himself for rafting and kayaking, he had ever attended an international championship in the Alas River, Ketambe, Southeast Aceh Regency.
He has been guiding in this filed and participating in various Rafting Events and Expedition National and International such as in the championship of the Betung Putri River area, Gayo Lues Regency. He has completed successfully gained a certificate of special interest tour guide at IPB and became assistant jury in the national championship of Sungai Merangin river, Jambi. He is a specialist rafting guide for the geumpang river, Aceh Pidie.
Intan Devia Sary
Intan is a young girl who has strong passion for adventure. Intan gained her bachelor’s degree from Sahid Institute of Tourism Jakarta in 2016 . she is focus on Development of Community Based Tourism in Aceh-Sumatra especially in Conservation Response Unit (CRU) DAS Peusangan Bener Meriah Regency. Accorrding to her Community based tourism is a concept that concern to develop rural area to be a tourism attraction and involve the local communities to have the authority to manage and develop their own regions. It also gives the opportunity to the local to improve their welfare and sustain the local culture and natural resources. She also cares very much about rare animals like elephants. she really likes elephants, because of her courage to adapt to the elephant she got the title as the “elephants mother”.
ASHABUL YAMIN
Yamin was born in Takengon, Central Aceh. He gained his bachelor’s degree in majoring International Relations Department in Yogyakarta. He is focused on advocacy, protection, development policy and birding photography tour for Bur Mulo Gayo Highlands Area.
